Hello and welcome to my personal space on the Internet.

My name is Euangelos 🔈 (Ευάγγελος 🔈 in Greek) and I love building products around data (both big and small). I’ve studied and worked in Samos (Greece), London (United Kingdom), Zurich (Switzerland) and Karlsruhe (Germany). I currently live in Athens (Greece) but I was born and raised in beautiful Chalkida (Greece). My pronouns are he/him/his and I usually go by the online ID eualin.

Currently, I work remotely as a Senior Software Engineer at Elastic N.V., the search AI company. Previously, I worked as a Data Engineer and Scientist at Pollfish Inc. and before that at Adello A.G..

I’ve studied at the University College London (UCL) (MSc in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning) as well as at the University of the Aegean (UoA) (MSc in Intelligent Systems and MEng in Information and Communication Systems Engineering).

Also, I’m a co-organizer of the Athens Big Data, the 2nd most popular tech Meetup in Greece.

I usually program in Python, SQL, and Bash but I also have professional experience in Clojure, Scala, and Rust.

My interests lie within Software Engineering (with emphasis in OSS), Artificial Intelligence (ML, DL, DM, NLP, CV etc.), Data Science and Engineering, Data Warehousing and Analytics, Big Data and Distributed Systems.

Besides technology, I mentor a couple early stage startups, I am a big F1 fan since 1992 (Scuderia Ferrari and any Honda works car), an avid runner (competitive track and field as well as 2 times marathon finisher in under 3,5 hours) and cyclist (competitive track cycling and mountain biking).
